Our rendezvous point is La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur, from where we embark on an unforgettable journey to Espiritu Santo Island. Once there, you will find yourself in what Jacques Cousteau famously called “the world’s aquarium.” From swimming alongside the largest fish in the world to gliding through the crystalline waters of Espiritu Santo’s captivating bays in kayaks, to snorkeling with the enchanting sea lions, we are delighted to guide you through this awe-inspiring adventure.
Your trip begins and ends with nights of comfort at Hotel Catedral, one of the finest hotels in La Paz. For the remaining four nights and five days, immerse yourself in island life with a relaxed schedule. Each day, after a hearty breakfast, we set off on kayaking expeditions, exploring the many bays and beaches that grace our path. In the afternoon, return to camp, indulge in well-deserved relaxation, and reflect on the day’s adventures as we treat you to a captivating sunset happy hour, followed by a delectable dinner.

Day 1
Arrival in La Paz. Check into the Cathedral Hotel, a delightful haven located in the heart of La Paz, offering easy access to the city’s finest restaurants and shops.
Day 2
Start the day with a complimentary breakfast at Hotel Catedral, then meet at the Eco Migrations office to gear up for the adventure ahead. Board the skiff and set sail for Espíritu Santo Island. Arrive at the designated beach by the park regulations, where you’ll receive a camp introduction and savor a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, dive into a sea kayaking introduction, familiarize yourself with the equipment and learn techniques to master the sea kayaks, also, snorkel around the reefs near the camp, familiarizing yourself with the gear and preparing for the next day’s adventure at Los Islotes. Marvel at the diverse marine life, including stone scorpionfish, lobsters, moray eels, and a multitude of fish. As the day winds down, enjoy a refreshing sun shower, change into fresh clothes, and relish a delightful happy hour with margaritas and guacamole, followed by a mouthwatering dinner. Stargazing under the night sky may reveal the mesmerizing beauty of Jupiter’s moons and the twinkling stars.
Day 3
Awaken early to witness the stunning sunrise and enjoy a cup of coffee. Indulge in free time until a delectable breakfast featuring eggs, pancakes, and sausage. Today, prepare for an exhilarating excursion to Los Islotes. Depart from camp and navigate towards the sea lion rookery, immersing yourself in a world teeming with fish and playful sea lion cubs. After an unforgettable snorkeling experience, hop back on the skiff, dry off, and find a pristine beach for a rejuvenating lunch of chicken salad, tostadas, and delectable fruit.
Continue the exploration, visiting the frigate bird colony and the enchanting tidal pools. Delight in the wonders of nature while walking and exploring the area. Return to camp for a captivating happy hour featuring ceviche and refreshing beer, followed by a delicious dinner accompanied by a breathtaking sunset. Enoy the engaging conversations before retiring early to prepare for the next day’s adventures.
Day 4
Fuel up with breakfast and engage in the morning routine before starting our camp site change of the day. After packing all our gear, we wil embark on a two-hour paddle, arriving at the southern tip of the island, where a scrumptious lunch of tuna salad sandwiches, fruit, and nuts awaits. If the mood strikes, continue the kayaking journey for another hour, arriving at the beautiful La Despensa Beach.
Return to camp after a well-deserved rest, relishing a delightful happy hour and a satisfying dinner. As the day concludes, the group disperses, ready for an early night of relaxation.
Day 5
Embrace the early morning tranquility with a cup of coffee and a picturesque sunrise. Following a hearty breakfast, embark on the final day of kayaking adventure. Head towards The Split, the striking point where Espíritu Santo and La Partida Islands part ways. Kayak along the island’s edge, reveling in the turquoise waters teeming with turtles and vibrant marine life. Observe seabirds soaring above and fish gracefully swimming below. After a few hours, arrive at a secluded beach, where a delightful lunch of sandwiches awaits, truly tasting like glory after the paddle.
Take time to rest, comb the beach, and engage in captivating conversations. Return to camp for some leisurely free time, allowing for beach walks, meditation, swimming, or simply unwinding. Gather once more for a memorable happy hour followed by a delectable dinner.
Day 6
Embrace the morning serenity as you pack your gear, preparing to load the skiffs after breakfast. Savor coffee and witness the captivating sunrise before engaging in camp tasks. Enjoy a delicious breakfast of chilaquiles, fried egg, and beans, and get ready for the day’s adventures. Depart around 9:30 am, as the best is saved for last – a visit to the whale shark viewing area for your 11:00 am reservation.
Navigate slowly through the Whale Shark Refuge, searching for these majestic creatures. Spotting their faint shadows in the water can be a thrilling challenge, but once found, swiftly organize the group for an unforgettable in-water encounter. Witness the stunning beauty of whale sharks as they effortlessly glide through the water, and if conditions permit, swim alongside them. Capture memories of this awe-inspiring experience. Conclude the day’s activities, returning to La Paz with hearts full of joy and beautiful memories. Enjoy a comfortable night’s stay at Hotel Catedral.
